What is the 'Pro Collagen Code' exactly?
As we know, Collagen is one of the most important structural proteins in several connective tissues of our body. It is found in the extracellular matrix and depending on the Type of Collagen, it is produced by Fibroblasts, Osteoblasts, Odontoblasts, etc. There are 16 Types of Collagen but Type I and Type III are the major ones in the skin. Thus, Collagen is focus in the Beauty Industry right after Hyaluron which indirectly also focuses on Collagen since it is needed to keep the fibers nourished, hydrated and smooth.

The Amino-Silicon-Complex is Hydroxyproline combined with Silicon. Hydroxyproline is the signature amino acid in the chain of Collagen. It makes up almost 14% of the protein! It stabilizes the Collagen Helix by building bonds with neighboring Collagen chains. Hydroxyproline is naturally created by the enzyme Hydroxylase which needs Vitamin C to do so! Therefore we added Vitamin C to support the work of the enzyme to produce more Hydroxyproline naturally on top of delivering Hydroxyproline itself. Furthermore, the Hydroxyproline is paired with Silicon. THE MINERAL Silicon - not Silicone (that's a different story) - increases bone, skin, hair and nail strength! I just realized that I desperately need a Silicon supplement lol ... however, Silicon is stimulating the Fibroblasts to secrete Collagen but also activates - guess what - the enzyme Hydroxylase! On a side note - a higher silicon content in the hair showed a lower rate of hair loss.
